Waterworks Express Car Wash opened in January 2013 and the location on DeKalb Pike in Blue Bell is currently the only automated site. More than 20,000 cars per day drive through this very busy area. The car wash is open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The company’s other car wash, which is a full-service business, is located in Plymouth Meeting.
“The automated system greatly reduces cost, especially through a reduction in the need for labor cost,” says Riegg. “While our full-service location needs [as many as] 12 people to do the job, at the express location we can wash about 1,000 cars a day using just about five people.”
